Coke Bottle Waterer Today

The waterer got hung in the chicken cage today.  The holes had to be enlarged and still, the water doesn't like to flow out.  Maybe this small waterer will last until the chicks move to their outdoor home.  The chicks slept a lot today.  They can reallllly relax!  They look dead all stretched out and on their sides!  They are very frisky and healthy though.  So far, so good.

Holy Saturday-Day 1

The school bus office ruined my day Friday by my having to go in for a random drug screening..... so..... by the time I got to the feed store that afternoon, a man was bursting out the door with a big box of chicks.... MY chicks.... the Buff Orpington chicks P. Allen Smith recommended I start with...... 

So today I consoled myself with straight run bantam chicks.  They are soooo cute.  Stripes.  I tried to get an assortment of colors, but all the plain ones had already been sold.
